FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Great answers to some of our customers most popular questions.

What should I look for when buying a motorhome?

When buying a motorhome, consider factors like the size and layout (e.g., number of berths, bed configuration), storage space, fuel efficiency, and the type of driving experience you’re looking for. It’s also important to check the vehicle’s condition and service history when buying a used model, and whether it suits your specific travel needs (e.g., family, couple, or solo trips).

Regular maintenance is essential to keep your motorhome in good working order. This includes checking the engine, brakes, tyres, and electrical systems, as well as servicing the habitation area, including the water and heating systems. Regular cleaning and checks on seals and windows will help maintain the structure of the vehicle. It’s also a good idea to schedule annual servicing with a qualified technician.

With proper care and maintenance, a motorhome can last for many years. Most well-built motorhomes can easily last over 10 years, with some lasting even longer. The key to longevity is regular maintenance, particularly for the engine, electrical systems, and the bodywork to prevent rust.

Most motorhomes under 3.5 tonnes can be driven with a standard Category B (car) driving licence. For motorhomes exceeding 3.5 tonnes, you may need a Category C1 licence. It’s important to check the weight of the motorhome and ensure your licence covers it before purchasing or driving.

Yes, many motorhomes are capable of towing a small trailer or car. Be sure to check the towing capacity of the motorhome and ensure the combined weight of the motorhome, trailer, and any cargo stays within legal limits.
