Three models in particular have caught our eye for 2023, and we believe you’ll find them remarkable, too. From the van-life offered by the Hymer Venture Sto the compelling driving experience of the Carthago Malibu and the thoroughbred entry-level DethleffsJustGo, it’s set to be a great 2023 for motorhomers.

With a truly distinctive look and a whole suite of brilliant features, this brand newHymer motorhome is like no other.

The pneumatic pop-top roof is an ‘instant loft’ which inflates in under three minutes, keeps out noise, light and temperature and adds stunning looks to high practicality in this comprehensively specced vehicle based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 419 CDI chassis. The bedroom in the pop-top can be safely and easily reached by the illuminated steps (which have storage space integrated within).

The kitchenette features everything you could possibly need for cooking – a dual burner gas stove, a sink with a wall-mounted tap, a multi-functional wall which you can customise with shelves and hooks for storage your culinary bits and pieces, plus plenty oof overhead storage. The bathroom is a space-saver, a highly convenient ‘two-in-one’. A push-out outer wall means the toilet room transforms into a shower room.

A lounge to the rear of the Hymer Venture S features an Infinity Screen, surrounding the seating area and showing off fantastic open views of whichever beauty spot you park up in while letting in loads of natural light. The lounge’s bench seating has an accompanying adjustable table, which can be folded up and stored away. The open tailgate expands the vehicle’s social space, offering an impressive yacht-style sun deck (with a 350kg load capacity) for enjoying the best of the weather wherever you are. This is an innovative space, featuring the traditional premium quality materials and workmanship you’d anticipate from Hymer motorhomes, but engineered from a different outlook on what a vehicle can offer. Hymer campervans have always been good, but they have never been quite this good.

Replacing the Just 90 with extra specification, the new Just Go is Dethleffs’ thoroughbred entry-level motorhome for 2023. It’s based on the reliable Ford Transit chassis, with a powerful Euro VI-E engine, and features advanced assistance systems for comfort and security on the road, including headlight assist with day/night sensor and emergency braking assist, cruise control, driver airbag, cab air-con and an optional navigation system. There’s also a Ford audio system with DAB+ radio to keep driver and passengers alike entertained during journeys in your Dethleffs motorhome.

The Just Go offers similar layouts to the Trend, and across the range there are four and five berth models with single beds or double beds available – including an option with a pull-down bed. Climate-regulating material is used to make the 150 mm-thick 7-zone cold foam mattresses, which offer comfort as standard. On single-bed Dethleffs motorhomes, there is an l-shaped lounge with free-standing table, perfect for socialising with the driver and front passenger, as the cab seats turn back in towards the interior of the vehicle. These are height-adjustable seats, ergonomically designed and have integrated headrests and padded armrests, with the textile upholstery matching the living room for a coherent aesthetic. A large skylight in the cab hood floods the interior with natural light, while the Light Moments lighting system creates a welcoming and homely ambience throughout the Dethleffs Just Go.

The fully equipped kitchen features a two-burner gas hob, a 137-litre combination fridge/freezer including a duplex oven with grill, a wide sink with high tap, a practical work surface and plenty of storage options including large drawers and overhead lockers. The large rear garage, suitable for most e-bikes, features a slip-resistant surface.

The Compact class features four coachbuilt and five A-Class vehicles ranging from 6.66m to 6.99m, with compact models in the 3.5t range suitable for a standard UK driving licence.
