Hymer Venture S: Style without limits

Every once in a while there’s a vehicle which takes the breath away. A new model which offers a degree of innovation or a new way of thinking around an old ‘problem’. Something which looks great and feels a little out of the ordinary – and which, for all of the solutions it offers, could be considered the best amongst the best.

There are plenty of stunning vehicles around these days, from all manufacturers, and we’re constantly impressed than the quality of the industry’s offer increases exponentially, year on year. There is so much design, engineering and manufacturing talent out there! But we have to say that the Hymer Venture S is our favourite ‘another level’ vehicle currently available. It’s worth some extra focus – and in this edition of our blog we’ll examine why…

What’s so good about the Hymer Venture S?

1. Exterior

A truly distinctive exterior manages the unusual feat of being rugged, futuristic and beautiful all at the same time. The Venture S’s form is instantly recognisable as belonging to ‘a vehicle for the great outdoors’ – but there is an element of science-fiction to this off-roader aesthetic, too. Perhaps that’s partly down to the unusual colours chosen to flagship the range – Stone Grey or Sea Blue Metallic – and the intricate honeycomb design graphics. It’s an unmistakable look which is cool and understated yet extremely bold at the same time.

2. Power and Performance

Thanks to the 18-inch studded tyres and the powerful chassis cowl from the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter plus all-wheel drive, the Hymer Venture S knows no bounds – all roads are open. Driving is maximised with the DISTRONIC+ Active Distance Assist (including multifunction steering wheel), the Full Beam Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Active Lane Departure Warning System, Attention Assist, Wet Wiper system and the heat insulating glass with anti-glare strip on the windscreen. The Mercedes-Benz MBUX 10.25-inch multimedia system includes navigation with steering wheel controls, DAB, touchscreen and reversing camera. In short, the driver is well set up for control, convenience and comfort.

3. Interior

Despite the stunning exterior and the elevating feeling of encountering it – not just on the first occasion, but every time – it’s perhaps with the interior aesthetic and the depth of features that the Hymer Venture S truly comes into its own. Let’s break these down and talk about them…

• See More and Enjoy Unique Space: The Venture S’s rear lounge seating goes from comfortable to completely mind-blowing when you factor in the Infinity Screen. This feature, made of real glass, surrounds all three sides of the seating area and means the availability of incredible wraparound views, plus the interior being flooded with energising natural daylight. When the tailgate of the Hymer Venture S is opened out, there is a whole new dimension added to the rear of the vehicle, as it provides a private ‘yacht-style’ sun deck. This incredible feature offers unrestricted views of whichever beauty spot you park at.

• Sleep Better: The Hymer Venture S features a pop-top roof which inflates in less than three minutes and provides a fantastic sleep spot. Its innovative two chamber system offers protection from noise, light and unwelcome temperatures, while your slumber comfort is accounted for by the mattress firmness being adjustable via the Hymer Connect app. There are also storage and charging options for mobile devices (and so on).

• Upper Floor: Once you’ve increased the height of your Hymer Venture S by popping the roof, reaching the ‘upper floor’ this creates is easy thanks to illuminated steps. The steps themselves double as further storage options.

• Eat Well: The Venture S includes a stylish kitchenette, complete with a soft feel / matt finish metal surface worktop and everything else you need for your self-catering to be ‘on point’. The backsplash is made from a composite based on powdered stone and is almost indistinguishable from conventional tiles, which gives the kitchenette a really stylish and elegant feel. A customisable multifunction wall is a useful and attractive feature comprising your own configuration of hooks, shelves and containers, and further storage options include a practical box system for food and utensils etc.

• Wash in Comfort: The 120-litre fresh water tanked bathroom includes a toilet (ceramic version is optional), washbasin, mirror and built-in cupboards. The room can easily convert into an even larger washroom with floor-level shower. The bathroom’s Slate Light Rocks furniture finish has a convincing natural stone aesthetic, and is easy to clean.

• Working from Home: You can be out on the road and still au fait with what’s going on back at the office. The Hymer Venture S includes a home office element which is perfect for anyone looking to put in some work hours while travelling. A side wall desk behind the passenger seat can be set up as a workstation, and three. 115-watt solar panels on the roof provide ‘juice’ to six well-positioned 230V sockets in the interior, plus eight extremely useful USB ports. When combined with the Hymer Smart Battery System 2.0 and 320 Ah lithium batteries plus the standard inverter, you’ll be able to rely on around 10 days of self-sufficiency.

• Entertainment and Electronics: The Venture S is compatible with the Hymer Connect app – so various components can be controlled centrally via your smartphone, tablet or the built-in 7-inch touch display. A mobile Sonos Smart Speaker can be attached to the Venture S’s wall panels, and you’ll be able to bang out the tunes in your favourite tunes locations. Film nights can be real fun with the projector including screen and wall mount. Pendant and reading lights can be fitted in various places throughout the vehicle, so mood and ambience can be tailored to fit wherever you are. Multi-level lighting (including plinth) makes the interior feel extremely spacious and roomy.
