The Butler’s Epic Adventure to the Artic Circle

The Butlers are currently undertaking the adventure of a lifetime in their Bailey Pegasus Grande, which they picked up from our Nottingham branch in February. The family of three are taking their beloved caravan all the way to the Arctic Circle and have been kind enough to share photographs of their journey in our My Lowdhams Facebook group. Jimmy first checked in with us on Monday 15 April, from a motorway service station in Denmark. By this point, they had already done one and a half day’s driving and anticipated another two and a half days to go before they reached their destination. We were excited to see what was in store! The next day, Tuesday 16 April, we heard from the Butlers again. They had crossed a big bridge in Denmark, and had another two to go, including the Malmo bridge that turns into a tunnel and will take them from Denmark and into Sweden. The Butlers were greeted by a beautiful sunset to finish of their days’ travelling.By Wednesday 17 April, the Butler family had covered 1600 miles in their Bailey, and had another two eight hour days ahead of them before reaching the Arctic Circle – “the Arctic Circle feels within reaching distance”, said Jimmy. Their daughter enjoyed playing in the snow by a frozen lake as they close in on their destination. One week into their travels, on Good Friday, the Butlers had been through two time zones, visited 13 diesel pumps and driven across 2084 miles – we were seriously impressed! The family enjoyed a well-earned two night break in Ranua Zoo. The sun was shining for their arrival, and they got a fantastic pitch amongst their snowy surroundings. On Easter Sunday, the Butlers finally made it to the Arctic Circle! And no trip to the north of our planet would be complete without a visit to the home of Santa – so that is exactly what they did. We have thoroughly enjoyed following their journey, and look forward to seeing what they get up to as they head back to the UK. If you fancy following in their footsteps, and putting this caravan through its paces, you can take a look at our selection of Bailey Pegasus Grandes. Make sure you join our My Lowdhams Facebook group today to keep us up to date with your adventures in your Lowdhams vehicle – we love seeing photos of what you’re up to and where you’ve been!
